Overview 


The Committee for Entrepreneurship and Liaison with Industry is consisted of two separate pillars of the Office of Liaison with Industry and the Center for Entrepreneurship, which operate under one integrated committee at Jahrom University. Having the aim of meeting the needs of the society, the offices are established at universities due to their significance in creating joint activities and collaboration among universities and state and private sectors and industries. The Office of Liaison with Industry can play an important and effective role in bridging the gap between the university and industry. The office can also bring them closer, and consequently, can help the promotion of scientific and technological levels of the society. Transition from an economy based on underground resources to a knowledge-based one with focusing on entrepreneurship and entrepreneurs can be considered as one of the significant and main characteristics of developing countries and in particular our country. It is not unusual that major transformations in the development of knowledge-based economies are brought through the development of entrepreneurship and the presence of creative, innovative and inventive people in the economic sphere of countries. Having the aim of developing entrepreneurship and moving towards an entrepreneurial university, the Entrepreneurship Center of Jahrom University has been operating since its establishment. 
 
Duties


• Establishing bilateral and continuous liaison between the university and industries and organizations via creating specialized task forces;
• Receiving research priorities from industries and organizations and accordingly informing the researchers at university;
• Sending research proposals to industries and organizations;
• Signing agreements with industries and organizations for the the implementation of research projects and supervising their execution;
• Concluding a memorandum of understanding with industries and organizations in order to expand the university's liaison with industry and society;
• Offering counsel and dealing with technology management and patents issues;
• Sending students to visit organizations and industries as well as to take internship courses;
• Supervising and controlling the research contracts;
• Planning and supporting the university's entrepreneurial activities;
• Planning and supporting the implementation of student skills development courses.
 
Objectives


• Improving, quantitatively and qualitatively, the university's liaison with international, national and provincial economic and industrial centers;
• Legalizing the university's liaison with external centers;
• Providing the ground for the cooperation of the faculty members and the active proficient experts;
• Preparing the groundwork for the development of production and technology in the country as well as for the commercialization of the university's research and technological achievements;
• Cooperating with the professors and research structures in attracting external research projects;
• Planning, managing and directing the commercialization of technological and innovative achievements;
• Organizing and improving the quality of internships and training programs;
• Providing services and support for research and technology;
• Organizing, supporting and empowering matching groups as well as promoting and strengthening the spirit of entrepreneurship and teamwork among students;
• Improving students' technical skills to enter to the job market.
