Introducing the Research and Technology Management

The Management of Research affairs is the executive pillar of Vice-chancellor for Research in organizing and supervising the research activities of the university and providing the required groundwork for anticipating and promoting the research activities of the faculty members and the students. The management strives comprehensively for the centralization of research in all areas bearing the aim of producing science and educating scholars. With the increasing growth of science production in Iran and inspired by the scientific mission of the university, the management of research affairs endeavors to establish a scientific and motivating atmosphere and to provide a proper groundwork for prosperity and scientific advancement both at university and state levels through the empowerment of the research activities of the faculty members. With the help of God Almighty and of the faculty members, the management intends to take a worthy step in institutionalizing the culture of research, continuous encouragement of research activities, strengthening the link between academia and industry, exchanging scientific and research findings with institutions and organizations and the advancement of the research goals of the university.

Missions

In line with the implementation of the macro policies of the science and technology sector of the country, the Research Management of Jahrom University has prioritized the following missions.
    Reinforcement of the scientific, research and managerial capabilities towards development;
    Laying the foundation for conducting research activities;
    Developing plans and acting towards the promotion of the culture of entrepreneuriship;
    Empowerment of technologists including students and professors;
    Analyzing the working environment in technology and publishing the results;
    Helping the establishment of purposeful communication with industries and executive sectors towards the commercialization of knowledge-based projects;
    Providing the groundwork for the compilation and publication of research documents; 
    Developing plans for the provision of the comprehensive management system of the university in information and communication space;
 
 
Objectives of the Research and Technology Management

The main objective of the Research and Technology Management of Jahrom University is providing the necessary grounds for increasing scientific productions including:
•    Conducting intra and extra university research projects by faculty members; 
•    Offering motivation and support for the faculty members to publish scientific papers in peer-reviewed and ISI-indexed journals;
•    Offering motivation and support for the faculty members to attend and present scientific articles in national and international conferences;
•    Providing motivation and support for the faculty members in organizing internal, regional, national and international conferences;
•    Publishing books and scientific journals;
•    Providing sabaticals for the faculty members;
•    Creating and expanding traditional and digital libraries at the standard level as well as providing the necessary books and journals for the libraries;
•    Expanding the link with industry and society, making the necessary research applied and functional as well as facilitating the necessary coordination in introducing intern students to organizations;
•    Providing and completing the necessary equipment for laboratories and educational and research workshops by working alongside the related faculties and departments;
•    Establishing the central laboratory with the aim of regulating, facilitating and accelerating the advancement of the regional and national scientific objectives;
•    Establishing and developing research centers (research institutions) with collaboration of the faculties and departments;
•    Developing business incubators with collaboration of the faculties and departments;
•    Organizing the meetings of the Research Council regularly to review, supervise and approve the research activities of the faculty members as well as developing plans to direct the research activities of the university alongside the comprehensive scientific and technological map of the country;
•    Creating a proper groundwork for facilitating the conduction of research activities through compiling the necessary codes of practice and instructions and submitting them to the Research Council of the university to be reviewed and for the final approval;
•    Accepting the suggestions and solutions offered by the faculty members and staff in order to promote research activities as well as to refer them to the Research Council;
•    Preparing, compiling and approving the necessary codes of practice in order to enforce the bylaws and regulations issued by the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology;
•    Serving the research and technology bylaws, regulations and instructions approved by the Vice-Chancellor for Research and Technology of the University.

    Laying the groundwork for the creation of proper job opportunities with the purpose of attracting entrepreneurs and university graduates in the fields of technology;
    Producting and developing marketable technology products and processes;
    Carrying out transformation and improvement in research terms, connection with industry, information and the existing connections;
    Putting efforts in developing business incubators;
    Providing the necessary services and council of the university sections towards commercializing new ideas.
